Let's kick off the custom design process with a design consult. Ideally, we'll meet in person to discuss your ideas and preferences. If an in-person meeting isn't possible, we can arrange a zoom call or phone consult. During this step, I'll assess any stones or metal you have for the design, if applicable. This helps me determine the best approach moving forward. The consult typically lasts 30-60 minutes, depending on the complexity of the project. After gathering all the necessary information, I'll follow up with you via email or text to discuss the next steps.
Step 2: Wax Review
After our initial consult and follow-up, we'll create a CAD rendering or hand-carved wax for your review. The choice between CAD and hand carving depends on the style and feel you envision for your piece. Once the wax is ready (usually within 1-2 weeks), we'll schedule an appointment for you to review it. This is your chance to see the 3D model in person and suggest any final changes. This step requires an in-person visit to ensure we're aligned before moving forward.
Step 3: Production
Finally, we enter the production phase, the last step in bringing your custom design to life! The entire process typically takes 3-5 weeks, depending on factors like workload and communication efficiency. During this time, we'll handle all the work—from casting to finishing touches and stone setting. Once your piece is ready, I'll provide an appraisal upon request and notify you for pickup.
